Exhibit @ 50 Prospect: Activating Storefront Space Through Local Art

In partnership with the Somerville Arts Council and Somerville Open Studios (SOS), US2 transformed a vacant retail space at the base of 50 Prospect, near the MBTA station, into a temporary community art gallery: Exhibit @ 50 Prospect. This initiative fulfills a Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) commitment to support local arts and culture through rotating exhibitions.

The gallery’s inaugural juried show, Visions of Somerville – As Seen Through Artists’ Eyes, opened in February and featured work from 18 local artists. A celebratory reception welcomed community members, and the gallery was included as a featured stop (E6) in the city-wide Somerville Open Studios event.

US2 is now working with SOS to plan the next exhibit, set to open in the coming months.
