Somerville High School Co-Op Internship: Building Career Pathways

As part of our workforce development efforts, US2 welcomed a senior from Somerville High School’s CTE (Career and Technical Education) program for a six-week spring internship. Designed to spark curiosity and career exploration, the co-op experience offered a diverse look into the world of real estate development.

The student worked 16 hours per week and engaged with various members of the US2 team—including project managers, construction leads, architects, and leasing professionals. They toured the 10–50 Prospect construction site and participated in meetings with key stakeholders such as the City of Somerville, Eversource, the MBTA, general contractors, and Union Square Main Streets.

The student also had the opportunity to apply their CAD skills to real-world scenarios, deepening their understanding of the development process and the role of the developer in shaping a community.
